urgentI know you’ll find this hard to believe, but we have grandchildren! See, I knew you’d find that difficult to swallow.

Not that difficult, you say?

Any way, our children, grown as they are, and grandchildren live states away from us. Some just in a neighboring state, others a few states away, and some live on the other side of the country away from us. Suffice it to say that none are even in the same time zone as us!

And though that may not seem like much to you, dear reader, there are times when it feels as though they are a million miles away. Do you know what I mean? And we just received word that some of them are moving to an even more remote location (sometimes I wonder if they are in the witness protection program – just saying).

I know this is just logic, but I need to remind you (and me). Every day that goes by turns into a month that goes by and every month that goes by becomes a year that has passed all too quickly.

Stay in contact with your co-workers, even if they don’t reciprocate. Stay in contact with corporate, even if they don’t like it. And by all means stay in touch with those you love, even if they don’t repay that love.

In that famous chapter about love from Paul’s letter to the Corinthians we find these words: Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” (1 Corinthians 13:4 NLT)

Allow love to work through you in that way. I know it’s hard to do, but do it anyway. In fact, stop reading this post and jot a note to someone right now. Go! Do it, now! The band Foreigner said it correctly: “Urgent, it’s so urgent!”

You’ll be glad you did . . .so will they!
