OK, now that we’ve got your attention, let’s continue that train of thought with this question: what is it that you are truly passionate about? Take a few moments to read over the definition I found online:
pas·sion·ate 1 a : easily aroused to anger b : filled with anger : angry 2 a : capable of, affected by, or expressing intense feeling b : enthusiastic, ardent 3: swayed by or affected with sexual desire
Isn’t it interesting that the first definition has to do with anger? But I must admit, when I am really passionate about something, I mean really passionate about whatever the subject is the feelings that well up within are similar to those that arise when I’m seriously ticked at someone or something. So maybe that first definition isn’t all that far from the truth.
So what is it that stirs those deep emotions within you? I mean stirs you to your core! What is it that gets your creative juices flowing so much that the ideas fly, or the words just roll off your fingertips as the keys whistle beneath your attack, or the music just oozes out every pore of your being so much that new pieces of music are brought to life – good or bad – neither matter.
If you can tap in to those fairly raw feelings and harness them around whatever subject you choose, or perhaps chooses you, you, my friend will accomplish more than you ever anticipated. Now if you can combine that energy, that “driven-ness” if you will with a valiant cause you have the equivalent of a nuclear reaction just waiting to be unleashed on an unsuspecting public.
Take some time, think about it, then think about it some more. Now what is it that rocks you on that level?
Why aren’t you doing something about it?
Let’s take a chance and one day soon explore how to take that pent up passion and unleash you on our world. Care to share what you’re passionate about? Someone might just join your cause.
