About the Author

I currently serve as the Executive Director for Life Changer Studies. We are a young, smaller non-profit producing high-quality, fair-priced multimedia Bible studies. Our 1st study shot in HD is currently in production as well as 3 studies for the Spanish-speaking audience.

I was on staff at Grace Community Church, Roswell, NM from 2004-2014 as Pastor of Discipleship and Small Groups. During that time the small group ministry grew from 12 to more than 75 groups. I’ve also been an on & off blogger since 2003.

I’ve served churches in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico in pastoral ministry for 30 years. My heart for Small Group ministry began when a small group of men reached out to me as a non-believing sailor (a VietNam era 6-year veteran) and lovingly introduced me to Jesus. My desire to see churches grow larger and smaller at the same time while helping individuals, groups, and churches take their spiritual next step led me to develop and self-publish “Your Personal Growth Journal” in 2007 with the first printing in 2008.

Growing up in a suburb of Philly, I am now married to Sharon (34 years as of May 2015), a native “Roswalien.” We enjoy our two daughters: Julia is a stay-at-home-mom in a small community outside Austin, TX and Kelley near Orlando, FL and only son, Russ, who oversees a Graphic Design department in Oklahoma City, OK. We also really enjoy our 4 grandchildren!

My business experience began after a tour in the Navy and before the call to full-time ministry and has continued alongside my ministerial career. In 1999, I co-founded and became CEO of VaporWerks, Inc: a “graphic and web design foundry” whose clients included health care organizations, doctor and dentist offices, restaurants, and the City of Austin, TX. In 2004, my business partner, and still good friend, and I closed VaporWerks so we could each pursue other interests.

In 2005, Grace hosted its first Financial Peace University class with 50 students. Our involvement with FPU and Dave Ramsey continued to multiply until, in the Fall of 2006,  when I was invited to be Dave’s guest in Nashville at a week-long EntreLeadership event and earlier this year I also completed Dave Ramsey’s Financial Counselor Training in Nashville, TN. We continue to host FPU and now Legacy Journey at Grace.

I became a member of Rotary International in 1992 while living in Santa Fe, NM. I’ve had the privilege to hold membership and various leadership roles as a member of the Rotary clubs of Santa Fe Centro; Rio Rancho, NM; Oak Hill, TX; and I’m one of the past-Presidents of the Roswell Sunrise club. I also have the privilege of being a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a sustaining member.

About This Blog

This is the 5th rendition of my blog over a 10-year history. I’ve deleted the older posts so as not to bore you with outdated stuff that does not relate to what we’re doing here.

Other blogs I’ve written for include: iwant2grow.com & PDSGN South West.

Topics We Normally Cover

Notice I said “normally“! You should also know that the opinions expressed within this blog are my own, except when I have a guest post.

So we will discuss things like:

  • local Roswell, NM events and happenings
  • Small Group stuff
  • Leadership issues
  • cycling
  • spiritual growth stuff
  • tech stuff
  • and an occasional rant on either the Eagles, the Phils, the Flyers or anything PA or Philly.

From time to time we’ll offer a contest for some free stuff and occasionally we’ll point you to some FREE stuff. We’ll try to do that more often.

Thanks for stopping by! Please feel free to come by one of my speaking engagements (not that often) or a musical performance (more often). I’d love to get to know you. And let me know what you think of the blog, it’s contents, the subjects, etc., etc.
