Who’s Your Model?

leadership modelWhether you want to accept it or not, whether you want to believe it or not, we all are followers. The CEO of the largest company in NYC follows someone. World leaders all follow someone else.

The question is – who are you following or put another way, who’s your model?

One day Jesus was teaching his followers when he told them: “Students are not greater than their teacher, and slaves are not greater than their master.” (Matt. 10:24 NLT) In other words, choose who you are going to follow wisely.

Author and leadership model, John Maxwell, has for years now, taught that people in an organization seldom rise above those they are following. He refers to this as the Law of the Lid. So, as a leader, you need to be getting better at your leadership to attract better followers.

Well who are you following? The latest boy band fad? The latest to survive the Shark Tank? The last winner of The Voice or American Idol?

Why not model your life after the greatest leader of all time?
